First,
I want to say that with our colloidal silver generator, you can
make colloidal silver with, or without the use of saline solution.
With that said...
There
is a great controversy going on right now in the colloidal silver
generator market dealing with whether or not to use any saline (salt)
in your distilled water. Personally, I think that the people
saying salt is bad are not quite telling the whole truth. It
seems that they may be using it as a scare tactic so that people
will buy their more expensive generators instead of the less
expensive ones that can be easily found on the net (like mine).
In
my on-line research efforts, one of the pages I visited says that
it takes one drop of saline solution per one ounce of water to be
creating silver chloride, and if you are creating silver chloride,
it is fairly easy to see because there will be black specks of it
floating on the top of your distilled water (As far as our
generator and creating colloidal silver, we have never noticed
black specks when using saline, however, we do get black specks
when "not" using saline, but we know that the black
specks you get when "not" using saline are only
negatively charged silver particles). Other pages that I
have found say that any amount of saline will create silver
chloride. At any rate, we have always suggested that
you use no more than one or two drops of saline per eight ounces
of water.
However,
since there is such a big hoopla about the use of saline, I made a
few calls to poison control here in Phoenix Arizona the other day
to find out about this "silver chloride" that a lot of
people are worried about. They said that silver chloride is
not harmful, however, it can act as a mild irritant. It may
do things like leave a rash on some peoples skin if they were to
pour some of it on themselves. Please keep in mind that they
were talking about pure silver chloride, not minute traces of it
in some other type of solution.
You
need to realize as well, that we do not know the long term effects
of using saline or any other substance as a catalyst. Who
knows, maybe in 10 or 15 years argyria may set in and a lot of
people that use saline as a catalyst may start getting blue and
gray splotches of color on their skin. I used to say that I
could care less if I look like a smurf, as long as I'm a healthy
smurf! I have since changed my mind about looking like a
smurf and decided I rather like my peachy complexion.
Personally?
I used saline for my own personal colloidal silver for over two
years, and a lot of my friends still use saline. None of us
has ever had any problems with our colloidal silver, and don't
expect to. But since there has been so much controversy
about it, I did personally stop using saline. Let's think
about it, here we are, able to make one of the finest natural
antibiotics in the world, and yet we want to add an impurity like
salt to it just because we're to impatient to wait a few extra
minutes? I think not, not for me anyways!
As
far as our colloidal silver generators go, we also stopped including saline
with our generators as we
do not recommend using saline if you are to ingest the colloidal
silver unless you are in an emergency situation. However, we
do include in our instructions, the directions to make your own
saline, in order to make super high concentrations of colloidal
silver for use on gardens and plants, treating wells and swimming
pools, room deodorizers, for pets, etc.
The
choice is yours to use saline or not. As I stated earlier,
our generator will make colloidal silver both ways.
Just don't let the scare tactics get to you. Call poison
control yourself, get informed and make wise choices :)
On
a final note, due to the fact that most people do not wish any
impurities in their colloidal silver that they consume, every
bottle of colloidal silver that we sell has been made without the
use of anything other than distilled water and 9999 fine silver.
